Vaughan, specifically

Where business happens in Vaughan.

Concord and the blocks around Highway 7 and Jane Street are Vaughan's working end: warehouses, trade counters, cabinet makers, kitchen and bath showrooms, and the suppliers contractors buy from before the sun is up. Woodbridge keeps its Italian character along Woodbridge Avenue, in bakeries, delis and family restaurants that have served the same streets for decades. Maple grew around Canada's Wonderland, and the opening of Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital in 2021 brought clinics, pharmacies and physiotherapy into the plazas near Major Mackenzie Drive. The Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, built around the subway station that opened in 2017, is filling with condo towers and office space. Kleinburg, home of the McMichael gallery, lives on weekend visitors to its restaurants, galleries and boutiques. Vellore Village, to the west, is newer and mostly residential, which makes it renovation and landscaping territory.

How search works here One honest base

How customers find a business in Vaughan.

Organic results

Woodbridge, Maple, Concord and Thornhill read as separate markets to Google and to customers. Construction, renovation, stone and tile, and event and wedding services are unusually well represented, alongside the retail and professional practices around the corporate center and Vaughan Mills. Most businesses here serve both Vaughan and north Toronto, which forces a decision: the profile has to name one honest base, and the site has to cover both areas without splitting into two thin city pages.

The map pack

A lot of Vaughan businesses are two things at once: a showroom in Concord that customers visit, and an install crew that goes to them. Google calls that a hybrid business. Show the address and add service areas, and the profile can compete in both kinds of search. For the showroom, current hours and photos of the inside are what a customer checks before visiting. For installs, reviews that describe the finished work carry the most weight. The site should split the same way: one page for the showroom, one for the work.

Questions

Asked in Vaughan

My mailing address says Woodbridge. Should the site say Vaughan?
Both. Woodbridge, Maple, Concord, Kleinburg and Thornhill are communities inside the City of Vaughan, and many postal addresses still use those names. Keep your Google Business Profile address exactly as Canada Post writes it, and say on the site that you are in Woodbridge, Vaughan. Customers search either name, and the site should answer both.
I sell to builders and designers, not homeowners. Does the site still matter?
More, if anything. A builder sourcing tile or cabinets checks a showroom's site for lead times, trade accounts and installed work before sending a client over. Give them a trade page: how to open an account, what you stock, and photos of finished projects, used with the builder's permission. Homeowners will read it too, and nothing on it will put them off.
Is the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre worth naming on my site?
Only if you serve it. The towers around the subway station are new, so many residents there have not settled on a dentist, a cleaner or a gym, and they look one up. If you are close or you deliver there, name the VMC on your services page, in those words, because residents use them.
